What is Boil?

Boils are the infections pus filling bumps which are caused by the infected hair follical.It causes due to the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.This germ is present in the nose of the people.Boil starts from the red tenderlumps.The boils are filled with pus,fluids which is painful.The pus is a collection of the white cells.There are number of boils grow together to form a folliculitis or it is called as carbuncle.These boils are appears on the face,neck,shoulder,armpits,buttocks.When the boil is appeared on the eyelid then it is called as aty.If any person develop a boil and the person is diabetic then it suppress the immune system.Sometime these boils are very painful.These boils emits unpleasant smell usually after when drained.The ointment and antibiotics are used against to the boil.The boils are removed by the use of the antibiotics and surgery.

Types of boils

• Carbuncle or Furuncle -It is caused by the bacteria Staphylococcus aureus.It is boil in the skin.It consist of two or more opening on the skin which cause to the fever.
• Cystic acne - It formed when oil ducts become blocked and infected. Cystic acne affects deeper skin tissue that the more superficial irritation from common acne. Cystic acne is commonly occurred on the face of teenage years
• Hidradenitis suppurative - These are formed under the armpits usually in groin area.In these area sweet glands are present.In this form antibiotics are not used .Mostly surgical procedure is used to remove the sweet gland to stop the skin inflammation.
• Pilonidal cyst - It is unique type of boil which is appear in the crease of the buttocks.It star to spread infection from the base of the hair.It form painful,tender nodule due to which we can feel discomfortable.

Causes of Boil

• Boil is caused due to infection of the hair follicles by Staphylococcus epidermidis which is a strain of bacteria which is located on the skin.
• Boil is caused due to germ Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.
• Ii cause when the more hair follicle take place.
• Boils are caused due to the blocked sweet glands.
• Boils are also occurs due to the use of anti-perspirant deodorants.
• the large use of corticosteroids suppress the immune system which can causes to the boil.
• Acne and dermatitis are responsible for the growth of the boil.

Symptoms of Boil

• Boils are red,pus filled,tender,warm and painful.
• Due to presence many boils person feels like fever and swollen lymph nodes.
• Itching developed before the lumphs developed.
• More boils are developed around single boil.

Treatment of Boil

• Small boils are treated with the moist heat by applying 2-3 times in day.
• When the boil is drained then wash it with antibacterial soap and bandage well which prevent to spread the infection.
• Apply the antiseptic cleanser daily in your bath which help to become skin dry.
• Apply the some antibiotics and antiseptic gel or ointment in the nostril.
• Use the some providence iodine or chlorhexidine cream to cure the boil.
• The paste of magnesium sulphate help to reduce the growth of boil and prevent infection.
• Sometime doctor may drain the infected area through the incision which help to reduce the pain,infection recovery.
• when the boils are fail to cure then they are treated with the microbiological culture.
• Wash the overall body with the help of 70% isopropyl alcohol in water.
• Tea tree oil is used to reduce the heat or pain.

Prevention of Boil

• Avoid free time activities like squash and jogging which cause sweating and resistance from clothing.
• Avoid the shaving in that area which is infected with boil.
• Avoid to wear tight cloth that do not allow the skin to breath.
• Reduce the weight if the weight is overweight and do the regular exercise.
• Wash your hands thoroughly after treating with boil.
• Do not squeeze the boil.
• Wash the boil daily with the help of soap and water.
