Race

All humans belong to the one species - Homo sapiens sapiens - and as such can produce offspring that are fertile, no matter which race they come from. Race is a more subtle variation than breed (as in dogs), so a Finn is more closely related to a Pygmy than an Alsatian is to a Dachshund.

It is impossible to tell one race from another by examining the internal organs, or by any blood test or other biological feature. Genetic studies can give some indication of race, but it is really a very subjective determination made on skin color, facial features and body shape.

Virtually all humans belong to one of three races, with the remainder (less than one in a thousand) being the remnants of ancient aboriginal peoples. An increasing number of people are blends between races, and many people carry genes of a race of which they have no knowledge.

Caucasians make up approximately 60% of the world population, and are native to Europe , North Africa and the Middle East (Arabs), Southern Asia ( India , Iran ) and western Siberia . By migration, Caucasians have populated most of North and South America , and Australasia . They vary from the fair haired, blue eyed and freckled Scandinavians and Scots to the mid~brown skinned, black haired and brown eyed Ceylonese. They tend to have a moderate beard.

Mongoloids make up approximately 30% of the world population, and are native to Eastern Asia , Japan and Southeast Asia . Pacific islanders and Native Americans are also of Mongoloid origin. Their skin color is a fairly uniform light brown, and hair is black and straight. Their features vary from the heavy rounded face of the Western Chinese to the more sharply and lightly structured faces of the Indonesians. Beards tend to be scanty.

Negroids make up approximately 10% of the world population, and are native to Africa below the Sahara . Negroids are found in the Americas due to involuntary migration as slaves. Their skin color varies from the mid brown of the South African Bantu to the jet black of the Sudanese, while their hair is curly and black, and eyes are brown. They often have a strong but curly beard.

Aboriginals make up less than 0.1 % of the world population, and the few surviving groups are totally unrelated to each other. Most Aboriginal tribes have been assimilated into other races or annihilated.
